Joei Lea G. was born in Riverside, CA and is native to Baton Rouge, LA. She created 'Joie Joei' based off of her Louisiana family's pronunciation (actually, mispronunciation) of her name. The French word 'joie' translates to 'joy' in English. Joei Lea has been a licensed cosmetologist since February 2020, where she immediately began to work as an independent hairstylist. 'Joie Joei Studio represents her creative space, and is an extension of her personal style and hair artistry. She has a STEM background in computer engineering, which is strongly based on a code of ethics. She takes pride in building trustworthy, knowledgeable relationships with all of her clientele. It is her personal mission to provide exceptional customer service and professionalism in her salon environment. Joei Lea's work in the hair industry began primarily with women who experienced hair loss. With her late grandmother's seamstress lessons, she was able to make and customize wigs. Being able to witness the joy and inner glow of these women, she knew her purpose was to remain in the hair industry. She has continued to perfect her craft through continued education and her daily salon experiences. Her specialties now include color, various extension techniques, natural hair care, and bridal services. Her hair artistry and knowledge extends to clientele of all backgrounds.
